available at the interactive sites.
Please monitor your child on line.
Please note, our class web page will
be under construction while I go through the training on how to use the new web
page creator the district is putting into place. Thank you for your patience!
Book It! is in full swing! Please remember to have your child properly
fill in the homework sheet. The homework sheet is used Book It recording
purposes. We
cannot stress enough how important it is that the children continue to read EVERY night! It is O.K if they
read the same book more than one night in a row to practice their fluency. Just
make sure that they write about a different topic sentence on the
homework. The fluency benchmark for
September is 64 words per minute and the end of the year is 102 words a minute, and
practicing at home as well as at school is an essential part of helping your
child to reach this benchmark. Studies
show that fluency is one of the key components in reading comprehension and
helping children to increase their reading levels. Please remember that our class is always free
to borrow books from me for homework if needed!
