Welcome to Third Grade and Mrs. Ostrander’s class/Room 501.  This page and website should give you all the information you need to help your child be successful in third grade.  Below you will find the homework assignments and any other information that might be required or needed from our class.  If you ever have any questions, please feel free to contact me at school on 696-2378 or through e-mail at ostranders@hlcs.org

Homework Policy:

Students will be given daily homework assignments Monday-Thursday.  Occasionally, this will include Fridays.  These assignments will be written down daily in your child's homework folder.  Parents need to sign the assignment sheet each day!  Incomplete homework can result in completing those assignments during recess.  Notes will also be sent home regularly- please take a few minutes to look through your child’s homework folder.  You never know what treasures you might find.  A weekly newsletter will be sent home to let you know the great things we are doing.  Keep an eye out for it!

Spelling:              Your child will have an introduction on the spelling words when the new reading story begins.  There will be 18 words to achieve a 100% on the spelling test.   There will be a second chance to receive a 100% if not achieved on the first try.  Please see the spelling website for the weekly words.
